This painting is part of a series in which I am exploring my relationship with nature, and the feelings that a beautiful vista - be it the coast or the mountains - evokes. I start by collaging organic shapes made with gelli plate prints, then layer paint to build up texture and mood.
This piece is titled "Incoming," capturing the dynamic tension I feel when I see an impending storm. It's exciting and promises cool winds and rain, but also brings the potential for destruction.
